We kept the frame, the slabs and the pilotis. The render, balustrades, windows, roof and entrance are all new.

Nobody had touched the flat since my grandfather died in 1989. They kept his terrazzo floor and made everything else new. My mother cried when she saw it, the good kind of crying.
